JOB TITLE: Expatriate Civil Engineering Manager
JOB LOCATION: Mokwa, Niger
Employment Type: Contract
JOB DETAILS:
- To manage all aspects of civil construction and maintenance at Factory, housing, offices, roads, dykes, canals, pump stations, bridges and culverts
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning:
- To plan, budget, schedule, lay out drawings, supervise and execute approved civil construction and maintenance program which includes:
- Earthworks which include the dykes, roads and other embankments for canals and levees.
- All hydraulic works (concrete) which include the pump stations, road culverts, drainage pump stations and concrete canals.
- Factory, offices and housing estate.
Execution:
- Ensure procedures are in place and followed to prepare, compare and vet prices of BOQs from vendors.
- Ensure the required men and machine power required to complete the project in time with company over heads or through contract
Maintenance and follow up:
- Daily site visit to organize and coordinate the overheads and with third party contractors on the field and ensure the work progress
- Effective utilization of company machines under civil
- Ensure safety consciousness and awareness for Civils staff.
- Ensure Quality and Cost control of all civil works.
Training the Over heads on:
- Budget preparation
- Civil lay out drawings and cost workings
- Cost workings on project progress
Key People Measures:
- Provide a quality leadership to motivate and communicate the development, operational and capital expenditure plans to subordinates
Key Financial Measures:
- Ability to formulate comprehensive financial budgets and to implement the necessary controls
Key Quality Measures:
- Ability to achieve standards of excellence in construction and maintenance of civils infrastructure
Key Production Measures:
- Implementation of the development plan through planning, construction and maintenance of civil infrastructure for a large-scale sugar plantation within time and within budget
Key Performance Indicators
- To manage all aspects of planning, construction, and maintenance of civil infrastructure to support the operations to achieve the set targets within budget in compliance with all environmental, safety and health standards prevailing.
Job Requirements
Education:
- A Degree in Civil Engineering or extensive practical experience on the construction industry
Experience:
- Minimum requirement: 15 years without a degree, or 10 years with a degree
Professional (Memberships & Cerifications):
- Candidate must be an expatriate
Key Competency Requirements:
- Track record of successful construction projects completed
