Job Title: Business Development Manager (Banking / Financial Sector)
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Deal Origination and Client Coverage team, ensuring the achievement of set KPIs.
- Manage a team of professionals responsible for originating and securing high-quality transactions across various sectors.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, emerging markets, and potential clients for investment banking services.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients and institutional investors, understanding their needs and challenges to deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Collaborate with internal business units (Investment Banking, Trustees, Securities Trading, Registrars, Financing, and Asset Management) to develop compelling pitch materials, presentations, and proposals showcasing the firm’s expertise.
- Lead efforts to secure transactions for businesses, meeting pre-agreed targets.
- Work closely with business leads to identify and assess potential transaction opportunities within target sectors.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of potential deals, providing regular updates on status, client interactions, and ongoing engagements.
- Prepare and present reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and key performance indicators for management review.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, enhancing the firm’s visibility in the financial markets.
Requirements
- First Degree (Second Class Upper (2.1)) in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Postgraduate Degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking origination, or related fields with a focus on business development.
- Relevant professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CFA) or ongoing certification program will be an added advantage.
