Job Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Lagos

Job Summary
- The Payroll Officer is responsible for managing the company’s payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages to employees.
- This role involves calculating earnings, deductions, and taxes, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Process and manage the company’s payroll cycle, including calculating employee earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Data Management: Maintain and update payroll records and employee information in the payroll system.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including payroll summaries, tax reports, and overtime reports.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees promptly and accurately.
- Tax Filings: Prepare and file payroll tax returns and ensure timely payment of payroll taxes.
- Audits: Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll by providing required documentation and information.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional – CPP) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
- Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills, proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex), and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of payroll laws and regulations, tax withholding, garnishments, and benefits administration.

- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee information and payroll records.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate payroll information clearly to employees.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
Salary
N150,000 – N170,000 monthly.
