Position Overview

- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and other financial transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial documents, to provide a clear overview of the organization’s financial position.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets and forecasts for the upcoming periods based on historical financial data and market trends.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing accurate tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Auditing: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and procedures.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Reconciliation: Conduct periodic reconciliations of financial accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
- Payroll Management: Process payroll and ensure accurate deductions, withholding taxes, and timely payment to employees.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws to ensure the organization’s adherence to these requirements.
- Financial Software and Systems: Utilize accounting software and financial management systems effectively to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
- Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and advise management on strategies to optimize expenses.
- Financial Planning: Assist in financial planning activities, including capital budgeting, investment analysis, and financial modeling.
Requirements and Skills
- B.Sc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ethical conduct and a commitment to maintaining financial confidentiality.
Salary
N150,000 – N200,000 / month.
