Job Title: Career Placement Officer
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (with potential travel within Africa)

Overview
- As the career placement officer, you will be responsible for identifying and fostering partnerships with value-driven organisations, aligning young talents’ career objectives with suitable industries, and ensuring the successful placement and development of Y.A.P interns.
- You will work closely with students, partner organisations, and our internal team to drive the Y.A.P project’s success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Source, identify, and establish partnerships with reputable organisations across Nigeria and Africa to offer internship opportunities to Y.A.P interns.
- Collaborate with HR officers of partner organisations to gain insights into industry skill requirements and trends.
- Align Y.A.P candidates’ aspirations, interests, and goals with specific industries to facilitate successful placements.
- Monitor and share weekly industry trends and insights through the D&R resource page.
- Publish open roles and internship vacancies on the Y.A.P job board.
- Track and report Y.A.P internship progress, ensuring both interns and organisations benefit from the experience.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with Y.A.P students, providing guidance and support throughout their placements.
- Ensure that students are matched with organisations that align with their values and promote a positive work culture.
- Develop mechanisms for follow-up, evaluation, and monitoring of student performance during work placements.
- Create guidelines and feedback mechanisms for partner companies to evaluate the Y.A.P project and provide insights for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Y.A.P students and the D&R team to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Devise strategies to promote and sustain the Y.A.P project within schools and partner organisations.
- Organise interactive sessions with students to enhance their awareness of essential soft skills and competencies required in the real world.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks related to the Y.A.P project and Dixon & Ricks’ growth as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, HR, career development, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian and African job markets and industry trends.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships with partner organisations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Passion for youth empowerment and development.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for communication and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
Experience:
- 3-4 years in admin or HR support roles
