JOB TITLE: Dry Cargo Operations Coordinator
JOB LOCATION: Lagos
JOB DETAILS:
- The Operations Coordinator who reports to an HOD is responsible for managing, updating and maintaining the inspection database.
- Will coordinate the scheduling of inspections at third party locations around the country and ensures support and appropriate resources to perform the inspections, reviews and sends inspection instructions to the Inspector and the site, reviews and completes inspection reports for correct information and accuracy, completes data entry.

- Confirming receipt, accepting and response to Client Nominations for Inspection work
- Communicating the client Scope of Work to the inspectors in the field.
- Assign the optimal inspection resource to each inspection to minimize execution costs.
- Review inspection jobs that have been assigned on a daily basis in the Work in Progress (WIP) report and ensure that each inspection site has been contacted to set up an inspection date.
- Maintaining real-time operations What App platforms for the transfer of information in the field to coordinator and for production of operations reports.
- Coordinating the activities of all inspectors in the field as per the scope of work.
- Collecting data and maintaining accurate company or departmental records
- Providing field inspectors with the necessary support and resources to effectively do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
- Providing management executives timely reports that outline group productivity and workplace improvements
- Review inspection reports and photographs received from inspectors for correctness and accuracy.
- Follow-up with inspectors to ensure that inspection reports are not late.
- Consolidate information provided by inspectors and assure registration of the results in database. Any potential risk must be reported to the HOD for evaluation.
- Complete inspection reporting within allowed time frame.
- Provide clients with daily updates on inspection progress and feedback in order to solve operational problems related to inspection scheduling or execution.

Minimum Requirements
Education:
- BSc / HND Geological Sciences / Mining / Engineering – Metallurgical / Industrial or Civil Engineering

Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience in product / cargo inspection industry
- 5 or more years experience in inspection operations
Required Skills:
- Honest, professional, integrity and be vigilant during the entire working process.
- Good Client liaison skills, presenting a professional image and able to develop sound Client relationships.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate (verbally/written) and liaise professionally at all levels within and outside of the Company.
- Team player with dignity and due respect for fellow colleagues.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in gathering, entering and checking data and information.
- IT Literate: Competent with Microsoft Office packages and confident in preparing management information and reports.
- Awareness and ability to demonstrate the importance of ethics & appropriate codes of conduct in the workplace
- Experience in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees
- Familiarity or appreciation of international ISO standards would be advantageous.
- Ensure data collated are correct and reliable, constantly update and reconcile them with other concerned parties.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Open to work in different locations.
