JOB TITLE: Extension Analyst
JOB LOCATION: Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys and collect a range of data regularly from farmers and farms.
- Track farmer progress throughout the season and provide extension support and advice.
- Coordinate input distribution to Smallholder Farmers.
- Monitoring to ensure farmers strictly adhere to TJ’s best agronomic practices.
- Work with other teams to coordinate smallholder activities such as straining, input distribution, harvest, and profit payments.
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.

- Strong interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Stamina to work round the clock during peak farming periods
- Curiosity, critical thinking, and a demonstrated interest to learn
- Demonstrated behavior of professional and personal ethics, transparency, and openness.
- Willingness to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders, especially with primary stakeholders.
- Strong management, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to stick to a schedule
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required for the Job
- Must be a Graduate of Agriculture Science, Agric Extension, Biology, Rural Sociology, Agricultural Economics, or any other related discipline.
- Minimum of 1-year farming-related work experience.
- Passion for agricultural development, especially in northern Nigeria.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to complex, evolving work conditions and environments.
- Displays cultural, gender, religious, race, nationality, and age sensitivity, and adaptability
- Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of Tomato Jos.
- Capacity to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be fluent in the Hausa language.
Additional Qualifications and Experience That Will Set You Apart:
- Good knowledge of extension delivery systems in rural areas.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated by the ability to develop and maintain relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Proficiency in computer knowledge, as well as strong Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word capabilities, will have an advantage.
