JOB TITLE: Fleet Manager

JOB DETAILS:
- The Fleet Manager will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet, maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, among other duties.

- Schedule preventive breakdown maintenance and repairs of vehicles to ensure 100% availability (Reach Stacker, Forklifts, Photon Trucks, Escort Hydra, Flat Beds, Cars and any other fleet item procured later).
- Understand where outsourcing is required and recommend outsourcing of Fleet.
- Plan, organize and supervise the fleet operation team and supervise and train and evaluate staff.
- Understanding of outsourcing of Maintenance activities as well as vehicles.
- To follow Office procedures, methods and equipment’s including computers and SAP software applications along with Word, Spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
- Supervision, testing and performance evaluation of vehicles.
- Adherence to pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Analyse problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to achieve goals.
- To handle the drivers and their schedule for the minimizing of overtime.
- To keep track the fuel consumptions and analyse the trend.
- Respond to requests by communicating clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Understanding the basic vehicle mechanics including the ability to identity major repairs are needed.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum qualification of B.Eng, B.Tech or HND in Automobile engineering and automotive technology knowledge
- Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in operations and maintenance of automobile and heavy lifting equipment’s.
- 10 – 15 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of Automobile and heavy lifting equipment’s.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment’s used in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of budget preparation and administration and cost control.
- Knowledge of tyres and level of maintenance and repair activities performed in a fleet maintenance programmes.
- Qualified and experienced professionals in fleet management in a manufacturing firm or third party Logistics firm can apply.
