JOB TITLE: Human Resource Manager

JOB DETAILS:
- Reporting to the Managing Director, you will advise the MD on formulation and implementation of company Human Resources policy within Labour Legislations.
- You will recruit, train, motivate and retain employees. You will advise the MD on the day to day administration of employees and maintenance of a harmonious industrial relations atmosphere conducive to their motivation for maximum efficiency.
Main Functions
Industrial Relations:

- Develop and maintain harmonious management employee relations conducive to employee career growth and high productivity.
- Impact on NJIC negotiations for competitive conditions of service at Shop & Distributive National Trade Group and implement approved Collective Agreement.
- Ensure effective communication – Staff Forum, Conference, Briefings etc.
- Formulate disciplinary and grievance procedures and ensure compliance.
- Ensure effective liaison with government agencies and compliance with all relevant Labour Legislations.
- Ensure all monthly reports are coordinated and sent duly.
- Formulate and implement recruitment and selection strategy that will reduce costs and lead to an improved bottom line.
Training and Development:
- Ensure that identified training courses for employees are within approved budget.
- Contribute to training and development policy at Group level as the need arises.
- Administration of employee’s competency based performance improvement review (CBPIR) exercise.
Expat Management:
- Ensure that relevant Expatriate returns are made to the appropriate authourities on time and in full.
- Oversee the management of Expatriates working within the territory.
- Manage the subcontractor contracts and staff
Staff Welfare & Other Regulatory Matters:
- Investigate and recommend appropriate process and actions for handling disciplinary cases.
- Prosecute HR related cases in court in liaison with appropriate Legal authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Factory Decrees and Environmental Edict.
- Conduct employee’ remuneration surveys to promote effective reward management and staff development.
Education, Experience and Skills/Abilities
- A University Degree
- A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Labour/HR function in a structured organisation
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria or any other relevant body
- A deep and up-to-date knowledge in HR development
- All-round management abilities with strengths in communication, administration and influencing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
