Job Overview
The Inventory Officer / Food and Beverage Auditor would be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records of food and beverage products within the organization.
It also involves regular auditing of inventory levels, tracking stock movement, and ensuring compliance with inventory management procedures and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of food and beverage stock levels.
Monitor inventory levels and reorder products as needed to prevent shortages or overstock.
Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to identify discrepancies.
Implement and follow inventory control procedures to minimize losses and optimize inventory turnover.
Auditing and Reporting:
Perform routine audits of food and beverage inventory to verify accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Generate audit reports, highlighting any discrepancies or issues discovered during audits.
Analyze audit findings to identify the root causes of discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Quality Assurance and Food Safety:
Ensure that all food and beverage products meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations.
Monitor expiration dates and shelf life to prevent the use of expired or spoiled items.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of food safety and sanitation protocols.
Supplier Management:
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of food and beverage products.
Communicate with vendors regarding quality issues, pricing discrepancies, and product substitutions.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, audits, and supplier communications.
Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to management for review and decision-making.
Training and Team Collaboration:
Train and supervise inventory staff, ensuring they follow inventory control and food safety protocols.
Collaborate with other departments, such as the kitchen and purchasing, to optimize inventory processes and reduce waste.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in inventory management, food and beverage auditing, or related roles.
Knowledge of inventory control best practices and food safety regulations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
Knowledge of food and beverage products and their shelf life is a plus.
