Key Focus:
- This role determines and documents business requirements and works with design & implementation staff to design & implement solutions within constraints.
- The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.
- This role also provides ongoing guidance/supervision to the Business analyst as a mentor/coach.

- Analyses past, present and future business environment.
- Works closely with systems analyst and project manager to design and implement solutions.
- Tests systems and user acceptance and implements changes or new applications.
- Ensures all testing protocols are adhered to.
- Investigates and defines requirements for business processes.
- Analyses business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Contributes in sessions for end-users, including training.
- Provides input to the documentation of requirements including data modelling, interface layouts, data flows, screen and report layouts, etc.
- Contributes to the design of new business processes.
- Contributes to strategies and guidelines to improve the business environment.
- Provides input to management (both IT and business) on business procedures and policies.
Key Result Areas
Business Analyst:
- Analyses past, present and future business environment.
- Analyses business processes to determine problems, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews processes and conducts process audits, as required.
- Contributes to the design of new business processes.
- Works with managers and relevant users on feasibility studies and establishing business and systems requirements
- Contributes to strategies and guidelines to improve the business environment.
- Provides input to management (both IT and business) on business procedures and policies.
Personal Effectiveness:
- Accountable for service delivery through own efforts.
- individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality for periods of 1 day to a maximum of 3 months (if Low 1). 3 – 6 months
- Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results.

Accountabilities
Solution Design & Implementation:
- Works closely with the Business Analyst, Systems Analyst and Project Manager to design and implement the best possible automated solution within the constraints of the tools available.
- Owns systems, user acceptance testing and implementation of changes or new applications.
Specifications Development:
- Investigates and defines requirements for business processes.
- Provides input to the documentation of requirements including data modelling, interface layouts, data flows, screen and report layouts, etc.
User Support:
- Contributes in sessions for end-users, including training.
System Testing:
- Tests systems and user acceptance and implements changes or new applications.
- Ensures all testing protocols are adhered to.
Qualifications and Experience
- A First Degree or its equivalent in a relevant field. (Master’s Degree is an advantage)
- 3 to 8 years experience in business apps & exposure to IT functions. Experienced in business and data analysis, solutions design & testing, data modelling
- Relevant industry experience is required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical skills
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills.
