Position Overview
- The Media, Knowledge and Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote the organization’s goals and initiatives.
- This role involves managing media relations, creating compelling content, and utilizing various communication channels to reach target audiences.
- The specialist will also play a key role in knowledge management and dissemination within the organization.
- Only people with very good writing skills and ability to write news stories should apply.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to ensure positive coverage and brand representation.
- Write press releases, and other media materials to generate media interest and coverage.
- Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and media events to effectively communicate key messages.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on media trends and sentiment.
Knowledge Management: Content Creation and Management:
Advertisements
- Write and edit content for knowledge products for clients, ensuring clarity, coherence, and accessibility.
- Synthesize complex information and concepts into easily understandable and actionable content.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to gather input, feedback, and insights for knowledge product development.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and focus groups to extract knowledge and best practices from internal and external sources.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to capture insights and foster collaborative learning within the organization.
- Engage with external partners, experts, and stakeholders to gather inputs and incorporate diverse perspectives into knowledge products.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- Proven experience in media relations, content creation, and communication strategy development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling content for various platforms and target audiences.
- Strong understanding of media landscapes, PR practices, and digital communication channels.
- Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of knowledge management principles and practices is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
