Major Responsibilities
Supporting children, adolescents, and women who experience Gender Based Violence (GBV} with access to comprehensive response services, including:
- Support partner NGOs, MWASD and MYSSD to carry out child-sensitive psychosocial support include GBV case management for child and adolescent survivors including referral for specialized services and dignity kits
- Strengthen the capacity of GBV SSWG partners including the MWASD and MYSSD to care for child survivors by requesting the support of HQ to deploy CCS trainers to conduct a ToT for GBV/CP caseworkers and Ministry Social workers.
- Support the strengthening of SEA community based compliant and reporting mechanism (CBCRM) with special attention to child friendly (CBCRM) in camps, communities, schools, and hospitals supported by UNICEF.
- Initiate the training of UNICEF medical staff from the health section to provide medical support for survivors of GBV and SEA including clinical management of rape and medical counselling.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the area of Community Development, Social Work, or related fields
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience implementing Child Protection and GBV programmes in emergency contexts.
- Strong experience in capacity building in GBV including designing and implementing GBV programming.
- Proven ability to work independently under difficult conditions, including in protracted conflict environments
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Experience working with community structures and / or religious groups and leaders on prevention and response to GBV including survivors of conflict-related sexual violence
- Proven experience in developing proposals and budgets for resource mobilization, partnership management
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language(s) at the duty station is required.
