Job Title: NOC (Network Operation Centre) Specialist

Position Summary
- The NOC Specialist is a key role within the Tier-2 (Simple Facilities Operator) organization, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the network infrastructure.
- This role requires a deep understanding of network technologies, protocols, and tools to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues.
- The NOC Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality network services to customers.
Responsibilities
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot network issues, including but not limited to connectivity, latency, packet loss, and bandwidth utilization.
- Investigate and diagnose network alarms, alerts, and incidents to identify root causes and implement appropriate resolutions.
- Collaborate with other teams to resolve complex network problems, including escalating issues to higher levels of support when necessary.
Incident Management:
- Respond promptly to network incidents, service outages, and customer complaints to minimize service disruption.
- Document and track incidents in the incident management system, ensuring accurate and detailed information is recorded.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to restore services within agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
Network Configuration and Maintenance:
- Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.
- Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patch installations, and configuration backups.
- Ensure adherence to network security policies and implement necessary controls to safeguard the network infrastructure.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor network performance metrics, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize network performance, capacity planning, and traffic management.
- Recommend and implement network enhancements to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, incident trends, and service availability for management review.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to network operations.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to other team members to enhance their technical skills and capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in network technologies such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network security principles.
- Experience working in a NOC environment, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
- Proficient in network monitoring tools, incident management systems, and ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with network equipment configuration and management (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
