JOB TITLE: Presenter (English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Pidgin)

Responsibilities
- Work activities vary, according to the type of programme. Prior to the broadcast, however, presenters may be involved in:
- Researching topics and background information for items to be featured on the programme;
- Planning and rehearsing shows;
- Writing, and sometimes memorising, scripts;
- Liaising with other members of the production and technical team/s.
- During the broadcast, presenters may be involved in:
- Introducing and hosting programmes;
- Interviewing guests in the studio, by telephone or on location;
- Reading short news, traffic, sport or weather reports;
- Reviewing books, films, music or newspapers;
- Providing links between programmes;
- Either reading from a script and/or autocue, or improvising;
- Keeping the programme running to schedule – responding positively and quickly to problems or changes, and improvising where necessary;
- Keeping in contact with the director and production team in the studio gallery, via ear-piece link.
- After the broadcast, presenters may be involved in:
- Meeting with the production crew to assess/review the broadcast;
- Meeting with the production crew to advance plan the next broadcast.

- The Ideal candidate must have a clear and attractive speaking voice, confidence, a likeable personality and be quick witted to handle unexpected events smoothly.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the specialist subject and of current affairs generally, as well as a fluency for language and a natural reading style, an easy rapport with an audience and the ability to work well in a team would be an advantage.
- A strong awareness of the technical aspects of getting a show on air, good planning, organisation and timing skills are also essential.
- The perfect candidate for this role would be someone looking to put their skills to good use, they must have:

- The ability to ‘think on their feet’ and ad-lib when necessary

Salary
N30,000 – N45,000 monthly.
