JOB TITLE: Psychiatrist
JOB LOCATION: Nigeria (Remote)
Employment Type: Part-time
JOB DETAILS:
- Perform client interviews, review of medical histories, and assessments to diagnose mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety
- Provide counselling to clients with mild mental health illnesses
- Assist clients to change their thought processes and behaviors
- Communicate effectively and regularly with clients
- Identify clients with moderate to severe mental health illnesses and immediately refer for specialized facility-based services
- Follow up on referred clients and ensure continuity of care after clients have been managed by the registered mental health facilities Ensure clinical documentation in accurate and timely manner
- Collaborate with a larger team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses for periodic case reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
- The position calls for highly professional, ethical, and empathetic individuals who can establish good rapport with clients and gain their trust, display active listening, speak only when necessary, maintain confidentiality of all client interactions, and apply psychiatric knowledge and principles in providing sound counselling for our clients.
The Psychiatrist should ideally possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:
- At least two year’s work experience in mental health service provision
- Post-graduate qualification in Psychiatry with member or fellowship from either the Nigerian Postgraduate College of Nigeria or the West African College of Physicians.
- Current and valid annual practicing license
- NYSC Discharge of Exemption Certificate
- Certificate of Full Registration as a Medical Practitioner by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria
- Great working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and judgment skills
- Impeccable integrity and the maturity to handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with teleconferencing needed
- Must possess a laptop or smartphone with fast internet connection.
