- Recommending and justifying collection of additional specialized reservoir data, fluid sample analysis, pressure data and other information necessary to evaluate reservoirs.
- Advising leadership on operational activities from a reservoir engineering standpoint
- Lead efforts on building and/or updating simulation models and use these to generate forecasts.
- Applies domain knowledge at expert level while providing mentorship and guidance to younger engineers and mentor for troubleshooting and technical expertise.
- Demonstrates high level awareness and utilization of application of engineering design, engineering calculations, resource management, project management and EHS compliance.
- Bring experience to bear on fundamental awareness of formation characterization, well stimulation, geology & geomechanics, nodal analysis, well logging/evaluation/testing, production analysis, drilling practices, and reservoir engineering.
- Interacts with and influence other disciplines including Field Operations, Geoscience, Land, EHS, and Regulatory
- Lead reservoir engineering studies and economic evaluations to quantify drilling potential within new and existing assets.
- Build reservoir simulation models when appropriate to validate/improve predictions and quantify uncertainty.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, Masters will be an advantage
- Minimum of 20 years relevant experience
- Possess high level expertise on relevant Reservoir Engineering software (preferably Petrel RE, Rubis, Intersect, Eclipse, PVTSim, Saphir, Emeraude, IPM) and workflows (PVT, SCAL, reserves, decline analyses, nodal analysis, production log analysis, production optimization, forecasting and integrated modelling)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to lead and challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers, partners and 3rd parties to influence decisions or ways of working.
- Must be a self-motivated individual and possess ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality.
- Good problem-solving skills (combining learned procedures and related experience) and the ability to handle large amounts of complex information in a detailed and coordinated manner and to identify critical issues and workflows.
- Committed to the highest principles of ethics, quality of work with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) objectives.
