JOB DETAILS:
- Working under the supervision of the Risks Communication and Management Lead for the Covid-19 project in Nigeria and the Risks Communication lead at NCDC, the Risk Communication Senior Data Analyst is responsible for developing and managing paper and electronic information management systems for managing, mining, synthesizing and visualizing data associated with risk communication.
- This will also entail designing dashboards for rumor management from the states and coordinating the effective use of opinion polls.
- In addition, the Risk Communication Data Analyst will oversee synthesizing strategic insights from the dashboards and using them to inform policy and decision-making at the management level and facilitate engagement with the MoH.
Major Accountabilities
The Risk Communication Senior Data Analyst will:

- Develop robust information management systems that will facilitate the collection, collation, and management of data at the community and facility levels for routine monitoring and reporting
- Oversee routine analysis and manage the development of data visualization dashboards to inform program monitoring and improvement.
- Manage the implementation of a centralized web-based data visualization platform for real-time access to data from community and facility-based service delivery points.
- Work with Risk Management and Communication Lead, Special Project Lead, Technical leads, and key stakeholders to improve data systems to capture routine data from the community and facility-based service points.
- Establish data security guidelines and activities to ensure that all data are stored and maintained in a secure and effective manner, in compliance with institutional and donor requirements.
- Develop and implement progressively digitized data collectionandmanagementsystemstomeetcurrentandprojectedprojectneeds.
- Develop mapping tools, manuals, standard operating procedures, and training materials to build informatics competencies in project teams and health facility partners.
- Collaborate in training and supportive supervision of partners.
- Liaise with national partners to advance the integration of health informatics systems.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly project planning and evaluation meetings with corresponding CDC staff and local partners,as needed.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Management System
- Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
Experience, Skills & Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience in managing health information management or health informatics projects
- experience with the integration of data from diverse paper and electronic sources is an added advantage
Must have:
- Demonstrated competence in frameworks and elements of informatics systems.
- Familiarity with CDC and Global Fund-funded projects is an added advantage
- Excellent computer skills, at minimum in Microsoft Office, including Excel Macros and Visual Basic; familiarity with DHIS2 and other data management software systems.
- Expertise in elements of geographic information systems and data visualization software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel within Nigeria conducting capacity building, stakeholder relationship management and Project activities.
