- At Nestoil, we’re on an evolutionary journey where we’re changing our story. We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Bids & Proposals Engineer to join our diverse team in our subsidiary, Energy Works Technology Limited (EWT).
- In this role, you will be tasked with achieving company’s revenue and turnover through the robust development and packaging of competitive and profitable bids/tenders.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Bids & Proposals Engineer, you will:

- Fully review and understand the client’s Prequalification, Invitation to Tenders/Request for Quotation documents
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to assist in collating accurate data for the preparation of proposals
- Accurately interpret client’s technical specification and produce a compliant technical proposal; offering more suitable alternatives where appropriate
- Accurately interpret client’s commercial requirements and ensure any commercial or contractual risks to the company are identified and mitigated
- Facilitate inputs from Technical and Commercial personnel as well as partner organizations, Vendors and/or subcontractors as appropriate
- Update the Proposal Coordinator and/or Proposal Manage on a regular basis about the bid progress and areas of difficulties
- Prepare commercial offer including price breakdown as per clients’ requirement
- Develop Proposal Work Packs and disseminate them to various resources persons for their inputs.
- Prepare post tender clarification responses
- Manage sub proposals and less complex proposals that EWT is the prime
- Evaluate the Nigerian Content Development Act requirement for technical tender
- Identify and track potential procurements that are consistent with the Company’s core competencies and strategic priorities
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures and that safe work methods are applied
Requirements
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of HND / B.Eng in relevant Engineering or related Engineering qualification
- 5 – 7 years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in Steel Construction or Oil & Gas Industry
- Fundamental understanding of commercial contract management – NEC or FIDIC
- Ability to read and interpret all Engineering/Technical drawings
- Ability to evaluate data, compile and count and record data from Drawings, Bill of Quantities and Bill of Materials
- Knowledge of material technology and ability to distinguish materials based on their metallurgical properties
- Application of codes/specification requirements. Have good knowledge of code of practice and relevant standards
- Ability to take inventory, examine, record facts and problem solving
- Ability to carry out researches, investigating and classifying data
- Knowledge and competence in the design of all company’s products and services, all production activities carried out by EWT
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite packages
- Open minded to learn and integrate with multidiscipline team
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Strong leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision.
