Job Title: VAS / IN / BOSS Specialist (Tier-2 / Simple Facilities Operator)

Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VAS/IN/BOSS (Value Added Services / Intelligent
- Network / Business and Operational Support Systems) Specialist to join our team as a Tier-2 / Simple Facilities Operator in the Nigerian context.
- As a VAS / IN / BOSS Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the VAS, IN, and BOSS systems, ensuring smooth operations and efficient delivery of services to our customers.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT,
- network operations, product development, and customer care, to implement and optimize value-added services, intelligent network solutions, and business and operational support systems.
Responsibilities
VAS Management:
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of value-added services, including content provisioning, integration, deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with product development teams to design and implement new VAS offerings, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and networks.
- Monitor VAS performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary optimizations.
- Conduct regular audits of VAS content, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
- Analyze market trends and customer preferences to identify potential VAS opportunities and drive revenue growth.
IN Management:
- Maintain and optimize the Intelligent Network (IN) infrastructure (HSS/HLR, STP/DRA, HSDP, OCS, AUC, PCRF, etc.), ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with network operations and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve IN-related issues promptly.
- Implement and manage IN services, such as number translation, intelligent routing, and charging solutions.
- Work closely with product development teams to support the integration of new services and features into the IN platform.
- Monitor IN performance metrics, conduct capacity planning, and propose upgrades or enhancements as needed.
BOSS Management:
- Oversee the Business and Operational Support Systems (BOSS) to ensure smooth operations and accurate billing.
- Manage the configuration, administration, and maintenance of the BOSS platform.
- Collaborate with finance and customer care teams to resolve billing-related issues and ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
- Perform regular audits of BOSS data, ensuring data integrity, and identifying and rectifying discrepancies.
- Generate reports and provide insights to stakeholders on BOSS performance, billing accuracy, and revenue assurance.
Integration and System Upgrades:
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for seamless integration of new systems, services, and upgrades.
- Develop and execute test plans, conduct system integration testing, and ensure successful deployment of new services and upgrades.
- Work closely with IT and network operations teams to troubleshoot integration issues and ensure smooth transitions.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of VAS/IN/BOSS systems, configurations, and processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies for VAS, IN, and BOSS operations.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in VAS, IN, and BOSS domains.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree is a plus.
- Proven experience of 3-5 years in managing VAS, IN, and BOSS systems in the telecom industry.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications networks, protocols, and technologies, particularly in the context of Tier-2/Simple Facilities Operators.
- Familiarity with VAS platforms, IN protocols (e.g., SS7, SIGTRAN), and BOSS systems (e.g., billing, revenue assurance).
- Experience in integration projects, system upgrades, and migration of VAS, IN, and BOSS systems.
- Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL for system automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and query optimization techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements in the Nigerian telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Certifications in relevant areas such as VAS platforms, IN protocols, or BOSS systems would be advantageous.
