Job Title: Compliance Officer
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos (with move around to Lekki, and Festac)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description
- As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company’s operations and processes comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing compliance risks, developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures, and providing training and guidance to employees.
- We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual who is capable of working independently and collaboratively across departments and branches.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess compliance risks across all areas of the organization, including operations, finance, and human resources.
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate compliance violations and incidents, and develop corrective action plans to address deficiencies and prevent recurrence.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management and department heads, to address compliance issues and implement corrective measures.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ensure that the organization remains in compliance with changing requirements.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries and facilitating audits and inspections.
Requirements / Qualifications
- HND/ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or internal audit, preferably in a retail or multi-branch environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks, and consumer protection laws.
- Experience working in a retail setting is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to move around to different branches located in Victoria Island, Lekki, and Festac is needed.
