JOB TITLE: Finance Manager
JOB LOCATION: Lagos
JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities
- Monitor the day-to-day accounting and financial operations within the company, such as purchases, bill payments, payroll, invoicing, bank reconciliations, customer/supplier reconciliations and other transactions.
- Manage documentation for importation – pre-shipment, pre-arrival and post-arrival activities including (but not limited to) preparation of Form M, PAAR, liaising with suppliers and banks for release of documents, liaising with clearing agent for shipments, etc.
- Ensure that company property including stocks are properly and adequately insured.
- Oversee financial department employees, including account assistants and accountants.
- Responsible for timely submission of statutory returns and payment, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
- Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
- Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company.
- Analyze financial reports and market trends.
- Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
- Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
- Prepare financial reports for presentation to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings.
- Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent qualification
- MBA in Finance will be an added advantage
- Relevant professional membership is compulsory such as ICAN, ACCA, ICAI, ICAEW, etc.
- 3-5 years’ experience in technical finance and/or accounting roles, with a demonstrated track record optimizing company operations, especially in an FMCG Distribution company
- A solid understanding of financial and management accounting principles
- Strong accounts and budgeting skills
- Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel, and PowerBi
- Tally 9.0 / Netsuite or any reputed accounting package
- Strong leadership skills and ability to influence decisions at an executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels and who represent a variety of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results
- Highly self-motivated individual with the capacity to get-things done
- Integrity and superior communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage change for oneself and for others.
- Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS reporting, ideally work experience with exposure to international business, FMCG, Manufacturing, etc.
